Few Irish sports stars have inspired a nation quite like Katie Taylor, and now she has added another remarkable chapter to an already extraordinary story.
The Bray boxing icon is set to fight in front of a packed Croke Park after demand for tickets to her September showdown proved nothing short of phenomenal.
Tens of thousands of fans rushed to secure their seats, with the historic event selling out in a matter of minutes.

Taylor’s fight for the undisputed World titles against Flora Pili will take place from the home of the GAA on September 5, and tickets went on presale on Wednesday for Matchroom Pass members as well as Lidl Plus users.
For Katie Taylor, the occasion represents far more than just another fight.
When she steps into the ring against Flora Pili on September 5, she will do so in front of more than 80,000 supporters at Ireland’s most iconic sporting venue, a feat many believed would be impossible for a boxing event.
The sell-out is a testament not only to Taylor’s success inside the ropes but also to the affection in which she is held by Irish fans.

However, not everyone was happy with the ticket situation for the fight, with thousands of fans desperately trying to secure tickets from early Wednesday morning, bitterly disappointed at not securing the coveted seats after hours online.
In a post on Instagram, Matchroom Chairman Eddie Hearn revealed that after one day of pre-sale, half of the 80,000 capacity has already been sold.
For years, Katie’s fans have followed her journey from local boxing clubs to world championship arenas. Those lucky enough to have bagged tickets for Croke Park in September will finally get the chance to see her headline the biggest show of her career on home soil.
