
Waterford FC will face a trip to Dalymount Park to face Bohemians in the semi final of the Club Orange FAI Cup for the second time in five years.
Following the draw this afternoon, the Blues will face Bohs twice in the space of a week in Phibsboro, as their SSE Airtricity Premier Division clash is set for Friday Oct 16.
Waterford , who overcame Sligo Rovers in an emphatic three nil, last eight victory on Friday evening, were second out of the drum when the draw was held following the conclusion of the last of the quarter finals at the Brandywell, where Derry City proved to be too strong for Dundalk.
The Candystripes’ reward is a visit to Eamonn Deacy Park to take on Galway United who came came from behind to dispatch Drogheda United at Sullivan & Lamb Park on Friday night.
Bohemians, who have former Waterford stalwart Alan Reynolds at the helm, needed penalties to overcome St Patrick’s Athletic on Saturday evening after the sides finished tied at one all after extra time.
The sides have met three times this season with the Blues losing one nil at home in March before securing a one all draw in Dalymount Park a month later.
However, Waterford secured a comprehensive 3-1 victory when the sides met at the RSC last month.
They will now meet for a fourth time on the weekend of October 9/10/11 for a place in the FAI Cup final which is set for the Aviva Stadium on Sunday November 8.
The sides met at the same stage in 2021 when a Georgie Kelly goal two minutes from time sent the Gypsies through to the final where they lost out on penalties to St Patrick’s Athletic after the game finished 1-1.
