It was a night that will go down not only in boxing history but in Irish history as well, as Katie Taylor fought her last fight in Croke Park.

The fight, for which tickets had sold out in 30 minutes, saw the Bray native beat French boxer Flora Pili.

The highly anticipated event did not let fans down with several performances from stars such as Westlife, Roisin Ó, and Aoife Scott.

In an emotional farewell, the boxer was embraced by so many of those who have worked, trained and supported her throughout her sporting career.

Her mum Bridget threw her arms around her daughter at the end of the fight, bursting with pride after she watched Katie defeat Flora.

In a heartfelt moment, the sports star removed her gloves and placed them in the centre of the ring, symbolising her final goodbye to the sport she has dedicated her entire life to.
