Arsenal have maintained their 100 per cent start to the new Premier League season after coming from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates.

Both sides had won their opening two matches of the campaign, but it is Arsenal who remain perfect after three games, alongside Manchester City.

Chelsea made a dream start, taking the lead inside just two minutes when Morgan Rogers volleyed home.

The goal continued Chelsea’s remarkable record of scoring inside the opening five minutes of each of their first three league games.

Arsenal responded in the 25th minute when Kai Havertz got on the scoresheet against his former club.

Havertz cut in from the right before beating Emiliano Martinez at his near post to bring Mikel Arteta’s side level.

The Gunners then completed the comeback five minutes after half-time.

Martin Odegaard found the net after Havertz’s clever dummy allowed the Arsenal captain to hammer the ball home.

Chelsea pushed for an equaliser late on, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya produced an excellent save to deny Estevao and preserve the home side’s lead.

The victory means Arsenal have won their opening three Premier League games while conceding fewer than two goals for the first time since their famous Invincibles campaign of 2003/04.

It was also Xabi Alonso’s first defeat as Chelsea manager.

Arsenal now have nine points from their opening three matches, while Chelsea suffer their first setback of the new campaign.
