Becoming cloudier by afternoon with a spell of heavy rain spreading from the Atlantic later, turning to hail, sleet and snow in places as it spreads inland. Afternoon highs of 4 to 6 degrees in light northwesterly or variable winds.
Cold tonight with continued rain, turning to sleet and snow at times with some accumulations possible. Very cold with widespread frost and ice as temperatures drop to between -3 and 0 degrees in light to moderate easterly or variable winds.
Very cold tomorrow with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow clearing to the south in the morning. Turning brighter by afternoon with scattered showers of sleet and snow mainly affecting coasts. Temperatures reaching just 1 to 3 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly winds.
