West Waterford man Joe Gough has won the gold medal in the 800m at the European Masters this afternoon.

Running in the Over-70s Group in Torun, Poland – Joe came home in a time of 2 minutes 23.41 seconds, which is also a new European record.

It was a brilliant display from Gough, who saw off silver medalist, Latvia’s Peteris Arents and France’s Yves Levasseur came home in third.
