Ireland has been enjoying a spell of summer-like weather in recent days, following a lengthy winter that saw weeks upon weeks of gloomy rain.
However, the wet weather looks set to return in the near future, with Met Éireann warning of an end to the beautiful conditions.
While most of the upcoming week will be dry and warm, the national forecaster is predicting clouds and showers.

Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather also warned of downpours towards the end of the week, but explained that uncertainty remains.
He remarked: ‘A risk of showers Thursday/Friday but a lot of uncertainty yet. If you have plans, I wouldn’t panic just yet.’
This is backed up by Met Éireann’s forecast for the week, which also has a hint of uncertainty.

For Sunday, the forecaster wrote: ‘Mostly dry today with some sunny spells breaking through. Some light showers might develop through the day. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees, with light west to northwest or variable breezes.
‘(Sunday night) Mostly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Some isolated showers are possible, especially over the northern half of the country. Some mist and fog patches too. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees, with light northerly winds.’
Despite being ‘dry with sunny spells’ on Monday, there is already the chance of some more light showers.

Tuesday and Wednesday will then both be dry days, with temperatures reaching the mid-to-high teens.
However, Met Éireann has forecast that Wednesday night could bring bouts of rain.
The forecaster added: ‘While there is some uncertainty in the forecast for Thursday, current indications suggest there is the possibility of clouds and showery rain spreading northwards over the country through the day.’
