Westlife has given an update on Mark Feehily’s health, with the singer’s absence from the band’s recent appearance felt amongst fans.
Mark has been dealing with a series of health issues over the past few years, originating from a sepsis development in 2020 that left him in intensive care.
The following year, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and has since undergone four major surgeries.

Due to his health concerns, Mark announced that he would be taking time away from the group in 2024, revealing last year that he would miss the band’s 25th anniversary tour.
On Monday, Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan and Kian Egan appeared on the BBC Breakfast show to chat to presenters Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell about the upcoming world tour.
Jon asked the band members about Mark’s health on the show and Shane provided a quick update on the singer.

He replied: ‘He’s okay, he’s taking a step back at the moment. He’s on the new music, which is great, he’s on Chariot obviously as well, but no, not with us on this one…
‘He’s good and he sends his love to everybody and to all the fans too.’
Mark featured on Your Love Amazes Me, which Westlife released on April 17, just ahead of the world tour.

Westlife will kick-start the anniversary tour in Aberdeen in September, before heading to Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, London, Manchester and Dublin.
Speaking about the new track, the band said: ‘It’s wonderful to return to the type of song that many of our fans will remember from our earliest days- it’s a heartfelt ballad with a beautiful story.’
Fans are hopeful to see Mark return after the tour, though a comeback for Brian McFadden was swiftly shot down by the group in a recent interview.
Speaking about the possibility to The Sunday Times, Shane said: ‘We’ve been together as four now since 2004 — that’s 22 years.
‘You can never say never, but that would be way down the road if we’d ever consider that.’
He added that the group’s focus at the moment is on their tour, with Nicky also recently admitting that he expects Westlife to stay as a trio for the near future.
