Netflix has cancelled ten shows so far this year, leaving fans and even one series’ creator devastated.
The streaming giant has been carrying out a ruthless house-clearing that has seen some big names being shown the door.
One of the 10 shows cancelled in 2026 came after the show went through a mid-season name change.

Miss Governor, initially named She The People, was cancelled by the streaming giant earlier this winter.
The series focuses on Antoinette Dunkerson, played by Terri J. Vaughn, who also served as a creator for the show.
Miss Governor also only aired one season before getting the axe.

‘I have to admit, I was quite heartbroken when I first got the info,’ lead actress Terri J. Vaughn said in an Instagram video.
‘I really worked my a** off to make that show come to fruition.’
Another big-budget production to get the boot was the Western series, The Abandons.

In January, Deadline reported that the popular show starring Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson wouldn’t return with new episodes.
The surprise news came only weeks after its December debut on the platform, stunning fans who expected it to continue beyond just one season.
Creator Kurt Sutter, who left the show before production ended, made his feelings about the sudden cancellation known in an Instagram post.
‘Dear Netflix, Next time fear compels you to choose the algorithm over a creator’s vision, remember how that choice unraveled a potentially beautiful project,’ the Sons of Anarchy creator wrote, according to Deadline.
He later toned down his comments shortly after, saying his ‘passion sincerely apologizes.’
Another show set to get only one season is Class, which debuted on Feb. 3, 2023.
It wasn’t an initial hit for the international market, but did find big regional success, spending seven weeks in the Top 10 in India, and five weeks in both Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Alice in Borderland is also facing its final season, Netflix revealed in a press release.
The sci-fi animated series Terminator Zero is also not expected to return.
In February, Creator Mattson Tomlin confirmed that the series was axed when responding to a fan on X.
‘It was canceled,’ he wrote.
‘The critical and audience reception to it was tremendous, but at the end of the day, not nearly enough people watched it.’
The creator added, ‘I would’ve loved to deliver on the Future War I had planned in seasons 2 and 3, but I’m also very happy with how it feels contained as is.’
Other shows on the chopping block include: The Vince Staples Show, Pop The Balloon LIVE Selling the City and With Love, Meghan.
