Another Home of the Year series is almost over, with everything from city centre apartments to upside down homes winning the judges and viewers over.
Judges Siobhan Lam, Amanda Bone and Hugh Wallace toured the length and breadth of Ireland to get a glimpse inside some of the most impressive homes.
In a series first, the judges also got a golden key which they could use throughout the competition to allow a runner-up from an episode entry into the final.
The brick-built home is a contemporary take of the existing 1930’s redbrick terraces already within the area.
Due to the location of the home in a side garden plot, a unique feature includes all-day long sunlight.
Amanda Bone used her golden key for the home to advance to the grand finale.

Open-plan Kerry home

Toni and Fionán erected this open-plan, free-flowing home in 2023, which is now their pride and joy.
The home has a warm and contemporary aesthetic and features plenty of inspiration from their time travelling and working together.
The sustainability-conscious couple recently started a homestead where they get eggs from their chickens and honey from their bees.

Former gate lodge

A former gate lodge in County Down was renovated having not been lived in for more than 30 years. With the house entirely gutted, it has now been transformed into a cosy cottage which features a blend of traditional and fun.
Owner Tara ensured her love for old-style love ran through her home, with the decor of the gate lodge inspired by traditional style.

Neo-Georgian Cork home

This 20-year-old neo-Georgian home in West Cork advanced to the finals because of Hugh Wallace’s golden key.
Marie and Jo, and their daughter, Emily, transformed every inch of the property to reflect themselves in every room.
While the house was structurally sound when purchased, the family put their own twist on it, which is a blend of classical style and artisan quirk.

Dublin city apartment

Another home that was perfect on purchase was Karen and Paul’s Dublin city apartment, but the couple wanted their own personalities in their home.
The apartment is open-plan, resulting in a real sense of space and flow, while bright, modern and neutral decor makes the home even brighter.
The couple describe their style as the relaxed charm of a countryside retreat but also keeps in line with the practicality and polish of an apartment in the capital city centre.

Dublin family home

Robert and Grace transformed this Dublin home to cater to the needs of their family of four, firstly extending the home out to the boundary wall, allowing for a larger garden and bigger kitchen.
This, in turn, led to better flow in the home, as the once-small kitchen led out to the garden, and while it still does, the accommodation is more open.
Grace’s refined and timeless style provides the family home with an understated touch of luxury.

Two-storey brick house

Finbarr and Gareth have spent the last number of years renovating their Dublin home, aided by YouTube tutorials, and inspired by their personality and passions.
Siobhan Lam used her golden key for the home, with the result showing a relaxing and creative space that is full of colour and personality.

Turret style home

Galway girl Laoise decided to think outside the box when trying to ensure she was making the most of the view surrounding her home.
The top-down property features an upstairs kitchen and dining room, with the two bedrooms located downstairs.
On purchase, the home was not in liveable condition. Renovations included completely gutting the home, only leaving the internal doors and fireplace.
Following a deep retrofit, Laoise’s home now features an open-plan kitchen and dining room with new plumbing and wiring ensuring the maximum use of space.

Kildare new build

This Kildare new build was purchased in 2022 by Mike and Steve, who live with their pup Finley.
The plans had been drawn up even before the sale went through, with Mike and Steve completely transforming the home since moving in.
This includes new light fittings, doors and panelling as well as having the back garden professionally landscaped and developed.
