Bonmahon Coast Guard carried out an unusual rescue this week.

The volunteer crews were called out on Monday when a young colt fell from a cliff and onto a ledge.

They lowered climbers down to the horse, now named Cliff, who brought him to safety.

Waterford Animal Welfare took the colt into their care and he was reunited with his mother yesterday.
