Lotto players in the rebel county are being urged to check their tickets, as someone is now €250,000 richer.

There were no winners of the midweek Lotto jackpot, worth a whopping €4.7million, although a lucky punter has won €250,000 after winning the top prize in the Lotto Plus 2 draw.

The winning numbers of the Lotto Plus 2 draw on Wednesday (Jun 24) were: 6, 8, 16, 27, 28, 47, and the bonus number was 35.

The location where the winning ticket was bought has since been revealed to be Field’s SuperValu, Skibbereen, Co Cork.

The winner is now being urged to sign the back of their ticket, keep it safe, and contact the National Lottery prize claims team.

‘West Cork has its newest Lotto Plus winner, and there is sure to be great excitement in the town today after a player scooped the Lotto Plus 2 top prize worth €250,000 in last night’s draw,’ National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan said.

‘We’re encouraging anyone who purchased a ticket on Sunday, 21st June, from Field’s SuperValu on Main Street for Wednesday night’s draw to check it very carefully.

‘If you’re holding the winning ticket, sign the back of it, keep it somewhere safe, and contact our Prize Claims team!’

There was no winner of the € 4.7 million jackpot on Wednesday, with the jackpot now rolling over to an estimated € 5.2 million this Saturday.

The Lotto win comes as an Irish EuroMillions player — coincidentally, also in Cork — netted a whopping €365,000 earlier this month.
