A popular Irish pub has paid a heartfelt tribute to a member of staff who died following a hit-and-run collision earlier this week, remembering her for her ‘kindness, laughter, dedication and warm smile’.

Raven Adams, originally from Tipperary, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in the York Street area during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police said the driver fled the scene following the collision but was later arrested in the nearby Cavehill area.

Detective Inspector Stewart, from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘It was reported the pedestrians were struck by a vehicle – the driver of which, a 22-year-old man, subsequently fled the scene, and was later arrested by officers in the nearby Cavehill area.

‘He remains in police custody at this time as enquiries continue into the circumstances of what happened.’

The detective added: ‘Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from other emergency services, where medical treatment was provided to both pedestrians.

‘Sadly, the female was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the man has been taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.’

The 24-year-old worked at The Thirsty Goat on Hill Street, where colleagues said she would be ‘greatly missed’ by everyone who knew and worked alongside her.

Another member of staff at the pub was also seriously injured in the collision and remains in hospital.

In a social media post shared on Saturday, The Thirsty Goat said: ‘Today, our hearts are with two members of The Thirsty Goat family.

‘We are deeply saddened by the passing of our much-loved colleague, Raven Adams.

‘Her kindness, laughter, dedication and warm smile left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.

‘She will be greatly missed and we will cherish the memories shared together.

‘At this incredibly difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to Raven’s family, friends and loved ones. May she rest in peace.’

The pub also shared a message of support for their injured colleague Ethan, who remains in hospital following the collision.

‘We also want to send all our love, prayers and strength to our colleague Ethan, who remains in hospital following this terrible accident,” the post read.

‘Ethan, we’re all thinking of you and praying for your recovery.’

The Thirsty Goat has announced it will close on Tuesday, July 21 as a ‘mark of respect’, while ‘family, friends and colleagues gather to celebrate the life of Raven’.
