Munster are back-to-back Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial champions after beating Leinster 14-5 in the 2026 final.

It was a much tighter contest than the opening round meeting between the provinces, when Munster ran out 39-19 winners.

Leinster showed a huge improvement and pushed Munster all the way, but the champions produced some outstanding defensive work when it mattered most.

Beth Buttimer was the star for Munster, scoring both tries in the second half.

Her second came with just ten minutes remaining after Munster worked their way towards the Leinster line from a powerful maul. Enya Breen added the conversion to put two scores between the sides.

Leinster had opportunities to respond, with Erin King coming close to breaking through, but Munster’s defence repeatedly stood firm.

The result means Munster have won the championship for a second consecutive year and extend their remarkable winning run in Interprovincial fixtures to eight games.

Buttimer finishes the campaign as one of the standout players in the competition, scoring eight tries in four games, including six against Leinster.

Her performances will strengthen her case for an Ireland call-up, with an international debut now a real possibility in the coming months.
