Liam Millar scored the only goal of the game eight minutes from time, calmly finishing after being played through on goal.
Hull now sit second in the early table after also defeating Manchester United on the opening weekend.
Newcastle United also picked up their first win of the campaign, beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in north London.
Anthony Elanga opened the scoring with a fine finish before Yoane Wissa added a second to give new Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle his first Premier League victory.
Tottenham have now lost their opening two league games without scoring.
Liverpool and Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 at Anfield.
Forest twice took the lead, but Liverpool found a late equaliser through summer signing Victor Munoz to claim a second consecutive draw.
Meanwhile, Everton remain unbeaten after James Tarkowski’s stoppage-time equaliser earned them a 1-1 draw away to Bournemouth.
