Two new community signs promoting local voluntary organisations have been installed at the playground car park in Tallow.

The signs, highlighting Tallow Tidy Towns and Tallow Snooker Club, form part of an initiative led by local Cllr. Donnchadh Mulcahy to recognise community groups and encourage more people to get involved in volunteering.

The signs were installed by Cllr. Mulcahy with the assistance of Eoin Condon, Shane Guildea and Arthur Óg Guildea.

Cllr. Mulcahy said the project aims to recognise the contribution made by voluntary organisations across West Waterford while encouraging new members to join local groups.

He said volunteers are the backbone of towns and villages, adding that even giving a small amount of time can make a significant difference to community organisations.

The Tallow installation is part of a wider initiative across West Waterford. According to Cllr. Mulcahy, a similar community wall project is currently underway in Cappoquin, with plans to expand the initiative to other towns and villages in the area.

He said he hopes the projects will continue to support local volunteers and strengthen community pride across West Waterford.
