It was another weekend washout with rain bucketing down across the country.
For the second weekend in a row since the start of the meteorological summer on June 1, the rain has paid every corner of the country a visit.
And it looks like it is here to stay, as the grass gets even soggier underfoot.

Met Éireann is forecasting that a mobile Atlantic regime will bring unsettled weather with rain or showers each day. Temperatures will be cooler than average for this time of year, but should improve later in the week.
Yesterday was a dark and cloudy day with outbreaks of persistent rain spreading countrywide through the morning and afternoon, with drier and brighter conditions developing in the west in the evening.
Highest temperatures reached between 13C to 17C. Last night, outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the east lingered, before clearing out over the Irish Sea with lowest temperatures of 5C to 9C, while some mist patches formed.

Despite today giving a bright start to the week, there will be a mix of sun and showers. The showers will become more widespread through the day, occasionally falling heavy, especially in the north.
Highest temperatures of 12C to 16C in moderate west to southwest winds, fresh along western coasts. Tomorrow will be a day of showers and sunny spells, again some heavy, with the chance of thunder.
Highest temperatures of 13C to 16C, mildest in the southeast, in moderate west to north-west winds, fresher on exposed coasts. Wednesday will start off bright, with isolated showers.
However, showers or longer spells of rain will affect Ulster in the morning. Cloud will increase throughout the afternoon, bringing patchy rain and drizzle, easing off later in the day.

Highest temperatures of 13C to 16C in moderate westerly winds, fresh at times on west and southwest coasts.
Thursday brings another wet start with rain clearing east through the morning, falling heavy and persistent at times.
Scattered showers will follow through the afternoon, heavy at times but with the occasional sunny spell breaking through.
Highest temperatures of 15C to 19 degrees in moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty south to southwest winds, becoming moderate west to south-west later.
On a brighter outlook, according to Met Éireann Friday ‘currently looks warmer and drier with sunny spells’.
