The River Clodaigh burst its banks this morning – almost two hours before high tide.

The road into the village remains closed however emergency services and Waterford Council are working to reopen it as soon as possible.

Storm Deirdre will bring an orange wind warning for the country from 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Severe gusts could reach 130 kilometres per hour by late afternoon, while heavy rain of up to 50 millimetres is expected to fall.
