Funeral details have been announced for Noreen Daly who died in West Waterford earlier this week.

Noreen’s body was discovered at her home in Ardsallagh on Monday afternoon.

Noreen Daly (née Murphy) was a native of Grenagh in Co. Cork and had lived in Monkstown, Dublin for many years.

Along with her late husband Michael, Noreen spent many summers at their property in Ardsallagh. She re-located permanently from Dublin earlier this year.

Her death notice states that she was “dearly loved, cherished and devoted wife of the late Michael, the love of her life and her constant companion.”

She was pre-deceased by her parents Timothy and Nora, her brother Michael (Haulie) Murphy, her brothers-in-law Johnny, Kieran and John and her nephew Vincent.

Noreen’s death notice reads that she is “sadly missed by her loving brother Teddy Murphy, sisters Tessie Walsh, Lelia Bolster, Ann Humphreys, and Kitty O’ Doherty, whom she adored beyond measure.”

The notice continued: “Noreen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always by her heartbroken family, brothers-in-law Batt and Kevin, sisters-in-law Bernie, Sheila and Sheilagh, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth, kindness, and gentle nature.”

Reposal will take place at the Coburg Street Funeral Home of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd on Saturday from 4pm to 5pm.

Funeral will take place after 11.00am Mass on Sunday in St. Lachteen’s Church, Grenagh followed by her burial in St. Lachteen’s Cemetery, Grenagh.

Noreen’s death notice states that donations, if desired, are encouraged to Women’s Aid.

Warm tributes continue to be paid to Noreen who was involved with various community groups and organisations.

On Wednesday, 33-year-old Finnegan ‘Finn’ Yowell, with an address of Old School House, Ticknock, Youghal, appeared before Carrick on Suir District Court charged with Noreen Daly’s murder.

He was remanded in custody until next Tuesday, when he will appear before Clonmel District Court.
