A group of brave Waterford fundraisers will take on a unique challenge today, June 19th, when they abseil from the roof of Croke Park in aid of the Solas Centre.
Participants will descend from one of Ireland’s most iconic sporting venues as part of a fundraising effort to support the vital work carried out by the Waterford-based charity.
The Solas Centre provides a range of services and supports to individuals and families across the South East, offering assistance, guidance, and a welcoming community environment for those who need it most.
The Croke Park abseil promises to be both a thrilling experience and an important fundraiser, with participants stepping well outside their comfort zones to raise much-needed funds for the organisation.
Among those taking part are supporters from across Waterford who have been busy gathering sponsorship and raising awareness in advance of the challenge.
The event will see participants descend from the stadium’s famous upper levels while enjoying spectacular views across Dublin city before making their way safely to ground level.
Organisers say every euro raised will go directly towards supporting the ongoing work of the Solas Centre and the services it provides to people throughout the region.
Community support has been strong in the lead-up to the event, with local businesses, families and friends rallying behind those taking part.
The fundraiser highlights the continued generosity of people across Waterford and the willingness of volunteers to take on extraordinary challenges in support of local causes.
As participants prepare to step over the edge of Croke Park on Thursday, the focus remains firmly on raising funds and awareness for a charity that continues to make a positive difference in the lives of so many people throughout the South East.
Donations can still be made through the Solas Centre fundraising campaign, with organisers encouraging the public to support those taking part in what promises to be a memorable day for a worthy cause.
