Waterford golfer Gary Hurley has booked his place in the final stage of DP World Tour Q-School in Spain following an impressive final round performance.

Hurley carded a five-under-par 65 at Fontanals Golf Club in Girona yesterday to secure qualification for the gruelling six-round finale, which gets underway this Friday at Infinitum Golf in Tarragona.

The Tramore golfer will be joined by fellow Irishmen Ronan Mullarney and Niall Kearney, with the trio the only Irish players to progress from the four final qualifying venues.

Twelve Irish golfers began the final qualifying stage, but only three have secured their place in next week’s showdown.

A total of 156 players will compete at the final stage, with 80 qualifiers joining 76 players who were already exempt.

The prize on offer is significant, with the leading 15 players and ties earning full DP World Tour cards for next season.

Hurley will now look to produce six strong rounds in Tarragona as he bids to secure his place among Europe’s golfing elite for 2027.
