The summer of 1934 saw Danish author and poet Nis Petersen prepare for the publication of his novel.
Titled Spildt Mælk – Spilt Milk, it was was set in Waterford.
Petersen twice visited Waterford in the 1930s, bookending the success of his previous novel, Street of the Sandalmakers.
His Waterford-based novel was set against the backdrop of the Irish Civil war.
