Thousands of people have descended across Waterford to soak up the atmosphere of the Waterford Festival of Food, as the popular event moves into a busy weekend of activity.
Conditions have been ideal for the county-wide celebration, which offers a showcase of the very best of Waterford’s food, producers and hospitality.
Dungarvan is once again at the centre of it all, with its streets, quays and public spaces bustling with visitors enjoying markets, cookery demonstrations and live events throughout the town. From Davitt’s Quay to Grattan Square, there is a constant flow of activity, with artisan stalls, street food and entertainment drawing steady crowds.

While Dungarvan remains the main hub, the festival’s presence is being felt well beyond West Waterford. Events are also taking place in Waterford City, where cultural venues and food spaces are hosting talks, tastings and demonstrations, while coastal locations, farms and local restaurants across the county are offering unique dining experiences and food trails.
Across the weekend, visitors can dip in and out of a wide range of events, many of which are free and open to the public. From large outdoor markets and family-friendly activities to smaller, more intimate gatherings, the programme continues to highlight the connection between Waterford’s food, its landscape and the people behind it.
With strong crowds and a lively atmosphere reported throughout the county, the Waterford Festival of Food is firmly in full swing, with organisers expecting another busy day ahead before the festival draws to a close on Sunday.
