
Waterford FC are back on the road today as they make the journey to the North West to take on Sligo Rovers in what could already be a relegation 6 pointer in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division.
The Blues, who saw their game with Drogheda United last Friday postponed due to the bad weather, face a Sligo team that secured all three points from their trip to Bohemians last week.
Waterford are still searching for their first win of the season and play a Sligo team that has now opened up a four point gap at the bottom of the table.
Two much improved recent performances saw Waterford secure a much needed point away to Bohemians last time out which came on the back of a hard fought draw against league leaders Shamrock Rovers.
Waterford were unlucky not to secure all three points against the “Bit O’Red” when the sides met back in late February with the Blues striker Pádraig Amond seeing his penalty hit the cross bar.
It is a crucial period for Jon Daly’s side as they follow up tonight’s visit with crucial home games against Galway and Dundalk in the coming month.
