How much would you pay to have the Irish Sea in your back garden? The most expensive home in Ireland has just sold for €15.5 million.

The house was once home to Rivals actress Victoria Smurfit, who spent part of her childhood in Dalkey alongside her businessman dad, Dermot Smurfit, her mum Caroline, and her siblings.

Inniscorrig is located on Coliemore Road in Dalkey, Co Dublin. The home has just been taken off the market, making it the most valuable home sale in the country so far this year.

The six-bedroom mansion, which is located in South Dublin, has a history of housing royalty, including King Edward VII and King George V of England.

The Gothic Revival-style home was built in 1847 as a summer retreat for Dublin physician Dominic Corrigan. The sprawling home has been acquired by an Irish family living in the United States, according to The Irish Times.

It was accountant Shane Little and his wife Nicola O’Flaherty who sold the home, which they paid €7.8 million for in 2018. The couple sold the house through London-based estate agency, Inhous.

Nicola is the daughter of the late Irish Volkswagen heir Nigel O’Flaherty, who died in 2016, leaving almost €60 million in his will, according to the outlet.
