It’s been a ‘rollercoaster start’ to the summer with a confusing combination of heavy rain and sunny spells.

The coming days look set to be more of the same before some reprieve for the weekend.

Unfortunately, the decent weather will be short-lived — so make the most of it while you can.

‘We will start to see some of that easing off, but it’s still going to stay dull and damp for most of Thursday,’ Alan said in a video shared to X.

‘Friday will start off cloudy, but we will see some sunny spells developing, and then good sunny spells expected over the weekend for many areas.’

On Saturday, some areas will see a bit of cloud and patchy drizzle.

Temperatures are also set to be on the rise fo the coming weekend, with Alan predicting it will hit up to 23 and 24 degrees in some areas.

Make the most of it though, as unsettled conditions return from Tuesday in another low of the summer months.

Similarly, Met Éireann are forecasting a warmer and drier weekend , with conditions remaining warmer in the coming week.

‘There will be some rain and drizzle on Monday and Tuesday, amounts will remain low,’ they shared.

‘More persistent rain is possible around midweek.’
