Patrick Kielty will remain host of The Late Late Show until at least 2028 after agreeing a new three-year contract with RTÉ.
The broadcaster confirmed on Tuesday that the new deal will see Kielty present up to 30 editions of the iconic Friday night programme each season, beginning with its 66th season this September.
Kielty, who became the fourth presenter of the long-running chat show in 2023, said hosting The Late Late Show has been ‘one of the greatest gigs in the world’ and described the past three years as ‘a joy and a privilege.’
Last season, the programme welcomed guests including Colin Farrell, Margot Robbie, John Bon Jovi, Westlife, Katie Taylor and Shane Lowry.
According to RTÉ, the 2025/26 season averaged 385,000 viewers per episode, while streaming figures and social media engagement also increased compared with the previous season.
RTÉ’s Director of Video, Steve Carson, said Patrick Kielty had made the programme ‘his own’, praising his connection with audiences and saying viewers can look forward to another series of Friday night shows, including this year’s Late Late Toy Show.
