Waterford MMA fighter Freya Marsh has been crowned an IMMAF World Champion for the second time.

Marsh secured the world title at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi yesterday while representing Ireland at the IMMAF World Championships.

Reflecting on the achievement, she said travelling and training with Team Ireland had been hugely beneficial, particularly being surrounded by like-minded athletes and developing friendships with other female fighters.

‘Day in, day out, morning, weekends, I get up early, I put in the work, I travel. I train hard. It is not easy but the result reflected the work,’ she said.

Marsh also paid tribute to those who helped her reach the world stage, including Checkmat Waterford, Waterford Muay Thai and Tramore Boxing Club.

She thanked those involved in her strength and conditioning and nutrition, as well as Árdú Digital for providing support which helped her compete this year.
