Oasis are back for 2027, with two nights at Slane Castle included in the Gallagher brothers’ much anticipated tour announcement.

At 4pm yesterday, fans around the globe heard the news that, following their reunion gigs in Croke Park, Liam and Noel Gallagher will be back for a 38 gig tour in 2027.

Titled Oasis Live 27, the dates encompass the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and the US, beginning in Glasgow on 21 May, and touring through Manchester, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Boston, Las Vegas and Slane Castle.

It will end famously with four nights at Knebworth in September.

Ticket prices have also been released and they certainly will not be cheap. The tiered pricing system used previously has been scrapped however, with tickets ranging from €180 to just over €500.

This means that the ‘gouging’ and premium ticket sales seen for the Croke Park gigs may be a thing of the past, however people are still expected to pay up to €500 coinciding with the return to school next year.

Mad Ferritt

For Colin Shanahan, Waterford’s answer to Noel Gallagher, and Mad Ferritt, the announcement could not have come at a more timely moment.

This Friday, to mark Culture Night, Mad Ferritt will perform on the Theatre Royal stage at 8pm.

Colin has been shaped by the music of Oasis from a young age and has a deep connection to the band’s music. Through Mad Ferritt, he has helped bring the sound, attitude and energy of Oasis to audiences in Waterford and beyond.

The adidas-clad musician joined Ollie and Dymphna on air to reflect on the announcement, the cultural revolution created by Oasis, and the rise and enduring success of Mad Ferritt.

Describing the gig announcements as ‘Showbiz’ worst kept secret’ , Colin said if lucky enough to receive a code for the option to buy tickets, he will be top of the queue.

In the event, he does not receive a code however, he has made peace with that, given his attendance at the Croke Park reunion concert on night one, and his place in the throngs of thousands outside on night two of the Croke Park gig.

Reflecting on the cost of the tickets however, he said he would like to see a change made urgently, to a system which is getting ‘progressively worse’ in how exorbitantly priced tickets are, and how people are making financial decisions they wouldn’t otherwise make.

The decision to change the pricing system for the gigs comes on foot of action taken by the competition watchdog over allegations of unfairness to the consumer relating to how ticket pricing was handled for the Oasis reunion gigs.

Anyone wanting a ticket for 2027’s tour must register between now and 4pm on Thursday, 17 September. The registration has been introduced “to reduce queuing times and organised ticket touting in order to give genuine fans the best possible chance to buy tickets,” according to organisers.
