A Kilkenny woman who was killed at her home in Australia last month has been remembered as a warm and kind person who could ‘brighten your day without even trying’.

Annmarie O’Reilly was laid to rest on Tuesday following a requiem Mass at St John’s Church in Kilkenny City.

The 30-year-old mother-of-three was found seriously injured at a house in Melbourne on August 21st and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 45-year-old Irish man, who is originally from Waterford, was arrested nearby and has since been charged with her murder.

He appeared before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody until February 23rd, 2027.

During Annmarie’s funeral Mass, mourners heard how she was ‘always smiling, always nice’ and someone who was genuinely warm.

They were told: ‘Not everyone leaves a room a little better than they found it. Annmarie did.’

Victoria Police have previously said the pair were known to each other.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
