Brian Dowling’s new co-host on the Six O’Clock TV show has been confirmed, but before he and Lottie Ryan get to put their stamp on the show, he’ll be joined by someone else he knows very well.
Next week, Brian will be working alongside his husband Arthur Gourounlian, with the married couple teaming up to present the evening show before heading off on their summer holidays.
Their on-screen partnership will be quite the historic moment for Ireland as it’ll mark the first time a married gay couple has hosted an Irish chat show together – pretty cool!

We’ve no doubt that there’ll be plenty of laughs and funny antics during the week, with Arthur no stranger to the cameras considering his judging role on Dancing With The Stars.
It sounds like they’ve a great line-up of guests for their week of co-hosting as well, with the cast of Riverdance and show director John McColgan joining the gang on the Six sofa.
Also stopping by throughout the week are comedy legend John Cleese, who’ll be chatting about Fawlty Towers: The Play ahead of its Irish run, rugby great Alan Quinlan who’ll discuss the Nations Championship, and The Chase star Darragh Ennis who will have all the details on new spin-off series The Chase Around the World.

They’re also set to chat with author Paul Howard, actor and Love/Hate star John Connors, and comedian Aoife Dunne – sounds like a packed week ahead!
Brian and Arthur love a good surprise, and we’re sure they will manage to sneak a few funny moments into the show, and perhaps even their daughters, Blake and Blu, will make an appearance.
Arthur’s role on the Six O’Clock Show comes after it was confirmed that Lottie Ryan will be joining him in the studio as the new co-host in September.
An insider told EVOKE: ‘Lottie is such a professional to work with and is a perfect choice to be the next host of the show.

‘Lottie and Brian have such great chemistry when they’re together and have been friends for years.’
Lottie has also shared a statement about her new gig, saying she’s very excited to get going.

‘Virgin Media has come into my life at exactly the right moment, and the future we’re already imagining together is incredibly exciting. I can’t wait to throw my whole heart at it,’ Lottie said.
She continued: ‘The Six O’Clock Show feels like a place where all the things I love most about broadcasting get to come together: great conversations, brilliant people, plenty of laughs and the chance to connect with viewers every single day.’
