WLR will join radio stations across Ireland today Thursday September 24th, for a special day of broadcasting celebrating genres, inclusion and the many different voices that make up our communities.

One Day, Many Voices will see 23 independent radio stations around the country place people and experiences that may not always be heard on the airwaves at the heart of their programming.

The national initiative has been developed by Learning Waves and is supported through Coimisiún na Meán’s Sound & Vision scheme, with funding from the Television Licence Fee.

Here on WLR, we will be showcasing voices from across the county throughout the day — giving people the opportunity to tell their own stories, in their own words.

You will hear from the Waterford Age Friendly , CBS Mt Sion School of Sanctuary and some members of the local Argentinian community. Each group in turn offering so much to Waterford.
