The new hockey season gets underway for Waterford Hockey Club this weekend, with two Waterford women’s teams in action on Saturday.

The Waterford Women’s 1st team will be the main focus as they begin their Munster Hockey League campaign at home to Ashton Hockey Club.

Waterford welcome Ashton to Newtown on Saturday, with the game getting underway at 12 pm.

It marks the return to competitive action for the Waterford Women’s 1st team as they begin their latest Munster Hockey League campaign, with home advantage at Newtown providing the backdrop for the opening fixture.

There is also action for the Waterford Women’s 2nd team on Saturday afternoon.

They travel to Garryduff to take on Cork Hockey Club’s 3rd team, with that fixture scheduled to get underway at 4 pm.

With the new season now underway, Waterford Hockey Club will be looking to get their campaign off to a positive start across both fixtures.
