Roy Keane wasted no time in calling out Jude Bellingham after the English star seemingly overstepped the mark and slapped an Argentina substitute.

The Overlap held a live watch-along for the match, with hosts Roy Keane, Gary Neville, and Ian Wright all present. The trio of hosts saw Argentina come back from a goal behind to dump England out of the World Cup in an intense semi-final clash.

Lionel Messi took the game into his own hands, providing assists for both goals to complete the comeback. There were emotional, and some controversial, scenes from the Argentina players after the final whistle, something that did not go down well with the England squad.

Jude Bellingham seemed to cross a line when he appeared to slap Argentina substitute and former Brighton player Valentin Barco, initially seeming as though the incident was unprovoked, but footage that emerged after the game appeared to show Bellingham’s reason.

The incident was spotted by Roy Keane, who brought up Bellingham’s actions on the live watch-along, which was met with no comment from his English co-hosts Gary Neville and Ian Wright.

‘There’s something happening there, look,’ Keane said. ‘Martinez and Otamendi, they’re not exactly going to shake hands with anybody. Look at this, look at Bellingham! Bellingham has just hit that lad. Watch!’

The Irishman then further riled up his colleagues with an exchange that began with Gary Neville opting with the better to laugh than cry approach.

The Englishman joked: ‘We’ll go off and cry and talk to Roy upstairs (where they film a podcast episode).’

At that moment, Roy Keane cut across him, asking: ‘What’s that song? Don’t Cry for Me Argentina? You can sing that,’ proceeding to sing a few lines while Neville added: ‘There’s a Scotsman behind the camera as well, laughing his head off!’
