Munster were beaten 24-18 by Leinster at the Aviva Stadium despite leading by 13 points in the first half of their United Rugby Championship clash.
Clayton McMillan’s side made an impressive start, with Shane Daly scoring a try and Charlie O’Shea adding points from the tee to establish a 13-0 advantage.
However, Leinster fought back after the break, scoring four tries to claim a bonus-point victory and leave Munster with a losing bonus point following Ben O’Connor’s late try.
Munster struggled to maintain their first-half intensity as Leinster gained control of the scrum and breakdown, with the home side scoring three second-half tries to take the lead before Jamie Osborne crossed for their bonus-point score.
The result sees Munster miss out on a derby victory, despite a strong opening performance in Dublin.
