Commodore James Francis Power was known throughout history as 'The Irish Watchdog of Ecuador.'
The Waterford man assisted the French in the building of the Panama Canal in the 19th century.
Additionally, he worked on the construction of the Panama Railroad before becoming Admiral of the Armada del Ecuador.
His story has been buried in the pages of history, resurrected by historian Cian Manning.
