A Waterford small business owner has described her devastation after a suspected arson attack on her premises, just hours after opening for the first time.

Aleksandra Krynicka told Damien Tiernan on ‘Deise Today’ this morning (Wednesday) that her new premises, Celtic Bull Garden Centre and Farmers Shop, had been destroyed by the fire which occurred over Saturday evening into Sunday morning, Sept 19 and 20 last.

Gardai have confirmed they are investigating the incident of criminal damage by fire and that the investigation is ongoing.

Aleksandra, with the help of good friends and volunteers in the community of Stradbally, is currently working to refurbish the premises which was subjected to extensive fire and smoke damage.

She hopes to re-open the garden centre and shop soon, including with the help of a ‘GoFundMe’ to meet the costs which has already raised about 1,500 euro.
