In recent weeks on ‘Dese Today’ we’ve received many contacts from listeners in the Portlaw area.
The issue is the 354 bus connecting Portlaw, and then Kilmeaden, with Waterford city (as well as Carrick-On-Suir and Dunmore East).
Since the schools and colleges returned, there’s been several mornings where the bus is at capacity before it even reaches all the stops in Portlaw – and school, college and work commuters to the city have been left behind at the bus stops.
It was also mentioned on the show recently by bus driver and NBRU executive member Darren Ryan.
This morning (Wednesday), Damien went to the bus stop on Queen Street in Portlaw to talk to passengers waiting on the 7.40am bus.
You can listen back to those, and then a follow-up interview with Portlaw councillor Declan Clune, by clicking on the image!…
