Harvest update

On this week’s episode, we’re taking a look at one of the most important times of the year for Irish farmers as the 2026 tillage harvest gathers pace. We’ll have an update on how winter and spring cereal crops are performing, assess yields and grain quality, and hear how this season is shaping up for oilseed rape and maize growers across the country.

Drought Support Package

We’ll also discuss the continuing challenges posed by the recent dry weather and examine the latest support available for farmers. Tirlán has announced an extension of its Drought Support Package for suppliers until mid-August, providing additional assistance as many farms continue to deal with difficult growing conditions.

Tullamore Show

And finally, we’ll be looking ahead to one of the biggest events in the agricultural calendar. This Sunday sees the return of the National Livestock Show in Tullamore, now recognised as Ireland’s largest one-day agricultural show. We’ll preview what visitors can expect, from the top livestock competitions and trade exhibitions to machinery displays, family attractions, and the latest innovations from across the farming sector.
