Who passed away peacefully on the 19th September 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his grandson Tom McCarthy, parents Tom and Nell, brothers Paddy, Michael and sister Ann.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife and best friend Tilly, daughters Rachel McCarthy and Alice Sweeney, sons Brendan and Alan. Sons in Law Brian McCarthy and Aidan Sweeney and daughters in law Mags and Joanne. Adored grandchildren Harry, Eve, Isabel and Luke McCarthy, Jack, Molly and Rob Kearney, Conor Sweeney, Hugo, Dan and Jake Kearney. Brothers John, William, Tom and Walter brother in Law, sisters in Law and his many nieces and nephews.

Reposing at John O’Donoghue & Sons Funeral Home Kickham Street Clonmel (e91PK19) on Sunday evening ( 21st September) from 5pm to 7pm.

James’s funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 12 noon in Our Lady and St. Laurence’s Church, Four Mile Water followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Family flowers only donations to Hospice.
