West Pharmaceutical Services has appointed Louise Starmer as Senior Site Director of its Waterford facility.

Starmer has worked with the pharmaceutical manufacturing company for more than a decade and has served as Senior HR Manager in Waterford since the site was established.

She has also been a member of the facility’s Senior Leadership Team.

Before joining West, she spent 13 years in a number of HR leadership positions with Rexam.

Waterford Operation

West’s Waterford facility produces packaging components used for insulin injector cartridges, alongside other pharmaceutical packaging products.

The company describes the site as a global centre of excellence within its advanced manufacturing network.

West employs more than 1,400 people across its Irish operations, which also include facilities and teams in Dublin.

Speaking following her appointment, Louise Starmer said she was ‘incredibly proud’ to take on the position.

‘From the very beginning, this site has been built on passion, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence,’ she said.

Tom Gribbin, Vice President of Global E&PC Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering at West, said Starmer had played an important role in the development of the Waterford operation since its beginning.

Starmer also holds a Diploma in Human Resources from South East Technological University in Waterford.
