Families, businesses and all other customers in Tallow can once again enjoy safe drinking water straight from the tap following the lifting of the Boil Water Notice.
The team in Uisce Éireann, following consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE), has confirmed that the water is now safe to drink, prepare food with, and use as normal.
The notice has been lifted following a series of satisfactory water quality tests. It was issued on 14 October after increased levels of turbidity, or cloudiness, in the water affected the treatment process at the local water treatment plant.
Maura Phelan, Uisce Éireann said:
“This is welcome news for the community. We understand how disruptive a Boil Water Notice can be and I’d like to thank customers for the patience, cooperation and kindness they showed to our teams while this notice was in place. Our drinking water experts have worked hard to resolve the issue, and we are delighted that customers can now return to using their water supply as normal.”
The Uisce Éireann Customer Contact Centre, available 24/7 on freephone 1800 278 278, can answer queries regarding the lifting of this notice. Further information is available on www.water.ie.
