A Tramore woman has been crowned Most Stylish at this year’s Tramore August Racing Festival.
Valerie McDonagh took the top prize at Tramore Style Evening following a day of racing, fashion and entertainment at Tramore Racecourse.

The nutritionist, who runs Superfood Preacher, impressed judge Louisa Murphy with a pink and burgundy outfit, featuring a headpiece by Millinery by Mel, a Coast dress, Coach bag and Toni Bianco shoes.
Valerie said she was ‘shocked’ to be announced as the winner, having initially hoped simply to make the shortlist.
‘I definitely wasn’t expecting to win, so I’m absolutely delighted. I love style and putting outfits together,’ she said.
Her prize includes €500 in cash and a two-night stay for two at Waterford Castle Resort, including breakfast and dinner on one evening.
Bill Comerford from Rathgormack and Veronica Murphy from Wexford were named runners-up.
Judge Louisa Murphy, who won the Most Stylish title at Tramore last year, said she was “genuinely blown away” by the effort and creativity shown by racegoers.
She said Valerie was the first person she approached on the day, with her headpiece initially catching her attention.
Tramore Racecourse Manager Owen Byrne described this year’s festival as a major success and said the event remains important for the town’s sporting, social and tourism offering.
The four-day August Racing Festival featured 28 races and total prize money of €340,000, alongside fashion, entertainment and hospitality.
