The final day of the August Racing Festival gets underway at Tramore today, with a seven-race card on good ground at the seaside track.
The opening 1.45 Directors Maiden Hurdle sees Speed For Fun head the betting at 15/8 for Willie Mullins and Brian Hayes, with Ivatt, Ballybollen and Louiescall among the main contenders.
At 2.20, the Frank Gillane Memorial Handicap Hurdle is headed by Ina Mina, who is seeking to follow up on a recent Tramore victory. Annie’s Angel, Truckers Cruising and Surviving Murmansk are also prominent in the betting.
The 2.55 Frank King Memorial Maiden Hurdle features Willie Mullins’ Lady Lena, the clear 5/6 favourite after finishing second on both previous starts. Something Fabulous and Goodmancon are expected to provide the strongest opposition.
The feature race at 3.30 is the Victoria House Tramore Mares’ Beginners’ Chase, where Future Prospect heads the market at 9/4. La Note Verte and Straight Home are both priced at 3/1, with Miss Fourie another leading contender.
The 4.05 McCarthy’s Irish Bar Lexington Handicap Chase looks competitive, with Nastya the 3/1 favourite following her latest victory. A Snow White Park, Watch The Weather and Pourquoi Poi are all expected to have a say.
The 4.35 Heinz Pollmeier Memorial Handicap Chase sees Bossing It head the market at 3/1, while Ballinaboola Gold, Presenting Lad and Kingdom Calling are among the other leading hopes.
The festival’s final race is the 5.05 Irish Stall Farms EBF Mares’ INH Flat Race, with Village Dream the 3/1 favourite for Willie Mullins. The Two Mary’s, Myluckymaker, Bluebell Breeze and Pamelaisbrass are also prominent in the betting.
With some of Ireland’s leading National Hunt yards represented, the final day promises another competitive afternoon of racing as the Tramore August Festival comes to a close.
