A number of roadworks and traffic management measures are set to begin across Waterford in the coming days.

Waterford City and County Council has issued notices for works in Waterford City, Kilmacthomas and along Williamstown Road.

Works to construct a new pedestrian crossing at Sanofi in Waterford City will begin on Monday, September 21st, with a Stop/Go system in place for the duration of the works.

Traffic calming and pedestrian infrastructure works will also get underway on the L7054 and L8061 at Newtown, Kilmacthomas, from September 21st. A Stop/Go traffic management system will also operate there.

Meanwhile, works will begin on the Suir River Walk on the same date.

The project will include the construction of a new pathway linking The Moorings housing estate to the Suir River Walk, along with maintenance works on the existing route.

The river walk will remain open to the public while the works are carried out.

Separately, site investigation works are due to begin along the full length of Williamstown Road on September 28th as part of the Williamstown Road Active Travel Scheme.

The works are expected to continue for around two weeks and will involve slit trenches and trial pits to identify underground services and assess existing soil conditions.

Most of the work will take place off-road, but where traffic management is required, a Stop/Go system will be used during off-peak periods where possible.

Waterford City and County Council has thanked the public for their patience and cooperation while the works are underway.
