Seven new one-day itineraries have been launched to encourage people to explore Waterford during the final weeks of summer.

Visit Waterford’s new ‘One Day Adventures’ combine attractions, outdoor activities, food and heritage across Waterford city and county.

Each itinerary provides suggestions for a full day, with activities running from morning through to evening.

The seven routes include ‘Walls, Whiskey & Music’ in Waterford City, combining the Waterford Walls street art trail with museums, whiskey tasting and live music.

A ‘Harbour Adventure’ centres around Dunmore East, while a family-focused itinerary in Tramore includes the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens, Splashworld and the seafront.

Other options take visitors along the Copper Coast and through Bunmahon, combine the Comeragh Mountains with the Waterford Greenway, and explore Lismore and the River Blackwater.

Ardmore also features, with an itinerary taking in the village’s ancient monastic site and cliff walk.

Visit Waterford Chairperson Clare Barrett said the itineraries are aimed at making it easier for people to experience different parts of the county in a single day.

‘Waterford has so much to offer, from our coastline and mountains to our history and food scene, and these ‘One Day Adventures’ make it easy for families and visitors to experience the best of it in a single day,’ she said.

‘With summer drawing to a close, we’d encourage everyone to get out and explore before the season ends.’

The itineraries are flexible, allowing visitors to adjust activities and timings depending on weather, group size and age.
