Councillor Seanie Power has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Comeragh District for the year ahead.
The Fine Gael councillor, who farms locally and is involved in the Clodagh branch of the party, was formally chosen at the district’s annual general meeting in Dungarvan, with John O’Leary elected Leas Cathaoirleach.

Power has also been active in local sport and farming organisations, including the IFA and ICMSA, and says rural issues like roads and one off housing remain a priority for the area.
He says strong rural communities are vital for schools, GAA clubs and local life across the district.
Cllr. Seanie Power says he is deeply grateful for the support of his wife and children, adding he could not carry out the role without them.
