A Status Orange rain warning has been issued for Waterford as very heavy thundery rain and blustery conditions are forecast.

The warning comes into effect at 6am on Sunday, September 27th and will remain in place until 10am.

Met Éireann says the conditions could lead to flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

Waterford is included in the warning alongside Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Cork.

There is also a risk of coastal impacts, with spring tides, storm surge and strong onshore winds potentially leading to wave overtopping along southern and southeastern coastlines.

Motorists are being advised to take extra care, particularly in areas prone to surface water or flooding.

The public is also being urged to remain weather-aware and to keep up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings from Met Éireann.
