Residents from Kilmeaden and the surrounding area gathered on The Mall in Waterford City this afternoon to highlight concerns over a proposed major data centre in the local area.

Today marks the final day for submissions from the public on the project which is being embarked on by Crag Rathnew DC Limited.

The proposed project involves the iconic former Kilmeaden Cheese Factory site.

As reported by WLR, there has been huge opposition to the project since details emerged last year.

A major march through Kilmeaden was held in April to highlight concerns. Today’s event was further intended to highlight concerns, with those in attendance displaying placards carrying various messages.
