Gardaí have issued a series of safety and traffic warnings for supporters travelling to Dublin for Sunday’s Club Orange FAI Cup Final between Waterford FC and Derry City at the Aviva Stadium.

Supporters are being encouraged to use public transport wherever possible, with the stadium served by bus, DART and Luas services. Those travelling by car are advised to use park-and-ride facilities, as parking is limited in the streets surrounding the ground.

A number of road closures will be introduced on Sunday, November 8th, with restrictions beginning at 10.15 am on several roads close to the stadium. Further closures will come into effect from 1 pm.

Vehicles parked illegally or causing an obstruction may be towed away. Gardaí are also warning supporters to respect local residents and avoid anti-social behaviour, including street drinking and public urination.

Supporters are being reminded to check the colour-coded entry route printed on their match ticket. Red, blue, orange, green and purple tickets each have designated entrances, and fans must leave the stadium using the same route unless instructed otherwise by Gardaí or stewards.

All patrons entering the Garda cordon will be subject to ticket checks and searches. Glass bottles, air horns, large flagpoles, flares and vuvuzelas will not be permitted inside the cordon.

Supporters are advised to arrive early, allow plenty of time to reach their designated entrance, and follow instructions from Gardaí and stadium stewards.

Gardaí are also reminding fans to keep personal belongings secure and ensure valuables are not left visible inside parked vehicles.
